moonlit fangs tattoo shop policies
although some aspects of this industry are standard, every tattoo artist & shop has slightly different policies; read below to learn how this shop operates
shop policies protect the client, the artist & the shop
Communication & clear boundaries help create great relationships. The policies detail operations and outline what is expected of a client in order to be serviced in our tattoo shop. Shop policies are in place to protect the owners’ & artists’ time, resources, artistry, expertise, & space.
Knowledge is power; clients deserve to be informed about the protocols, procedures & expectations of any shop (like payment policies, location information, booking protocol & more) so they can feel confident about their upcoming experience within a business. Clear policies give clients a framework that assists them in making informed & respectful decisions about their body modification.

TATTOO ETHICS
As a professional artist, I will not directly copy or plagiarize another artist's work or tattoo an image of an existing tattoo design. You may submit these as references, but I will always be designing and drawing a unique piece of art for your body. Hate speech, religious symbols, or cultural appropriated imagery or symbols, will never be tattooed in this shop.
CLIENT CARE
The client’s autonomy, comfort & consent is always prioritized. Procedures and protocols are built around a trauma-informed framework & training. The shop is a clean, open, & comfortable space for both client and artist.

Our creative collaboration is built on a foundation of care & consent. I ask that you offer me the same affirming experience through honesty, communication & respect. My name is Jess, I am non-binary, & use they/them pronouns.

Full payment is due in the shop after the tattoo procedure is complete. All services incur 5% GST. Cash is preferred and appreciated :) CIBC, RBC, BMO & EKC are all less than 2 blocks north of the shop. E-transfers are NOT accepted for final payment, only booking deposits. Debit Card & Credit Card payments can be accepted but incur a 4% processing fee.
TIPPING PERSONAL SERVICES
Tips are common and customary in North America's personal service industry (tattoo shops, restaurants, salons, spas, etc). Since a large portion of a client’s payment goes towards supplies & operational costs, so a tip is a great way to reflect your appreciation of the experience, level of service, or artistry. Gratuity is typically 15% to 25%. I always greatly appreciate this gesture from my clients; it is a clear sign that you love the artwork and enjoyed the service.
GUEST ALLOWANCE
One guest can attend a client’s appointment if it has been discussed with me prior to the session & I have given my consent. Other allowances include: multiple clients who are getting tattooed together, or a client with caregiver support
CONSULT YOUR DOCTOR
Some medications & medical conditions can create adverse reactions or affect the healing of your tattoo. Some examples include: antibiotics, acne medications, blood thinners, heart conditions, chronic skin conditions, pregnancy, diabetes and epilepsy. Most things can be navigated during the procedure, but we need you to be informed of your individual needs. A quick chat with your doctor will ensure there's no concerns
